We replaced the kitchen countertops and installed a new kitchen backsplash in Long Island City, Queens. The new surfaces bring a bold, flowing pattern to the counters and the wall beneath the cabinets.
The scope
- Remove the old countertops and backsplash
- Install new kitchen countertops, including the sink-area counter
- Install a new backsplash beneath the upper cabinets
- Finish the exposed edges and the junctions between the counters, backsplash and cabinetry
The countertop and backsplash finishes work together across the kitchen, with attention to the counter edges and the transitions around the sink and adjoining wall.
Materials
The countertops are marble-look engineered quartz, with a cream-to-white background and bold burgundy veining. The exposed counter edge has a simple eased profile.
The backsplash is a matching marble-look slab backsplash running full height beneath the cabinets. Its pattern reads continuously across the wall, with no grout lines.
